Cyanotypes - Music Series
This traditional photographic printing also known as 'Blueprints' was originally used by engineers in the 20th Century as a process to reproduce their drawings/ plans etc. Each print will vary slightly due the traditional hands on printing technique. They are also known as 'Sun Prints' as the sensitised art paper is 'developed' with the negative in sunlight to achieve the correct exposure for the final print, creating their characteristic cyan blue look.During the printing process it is possible to 'tone' these prints to create various different finished looks.Personally being a 'blue' girl, I generally keep to the cyan finish.
